[englisch/amerikanisch, 'mɔdən ɪ'lektrɪk bluːz], Bezeichnung für klanglich modernisierte Versionen traditioneller urbaner Bluesstile (City-Blues), wie sie insbesondere Stevie Ray Vaughan (1956-1990), die Gruppe Fabulous Thunderbirds, Robert Cray (* 1953) und die Roomful of Blues bekannt gemacht haben.
